Today is my friend Moe's birthday - the single greatest Halloween fan I know! To celebrate, I am doing a Halloween collecting-themed post to kick-of the Halloween season. The holiday is two weeks out; if you don't have a pumpkin out by now...what the heck are you waiting for?
It will probably come as no surprise to my blog regulars that I have a small collection of Halloween decor. Really, all of it is here! (I have family members with rooms full of the stuff!) To keep it manageable, I mostly collect black cat items...
But WHOOOOO Can resist a good owl or witch now and again?
Get out that orange and black! Put a pumpkin on the stoop, hang a spider in the window and get ready. Oh, and send a big Happy Birthday! and "Boo!" to Moooooooooooooooooo
Cool stuff! Say, I have a black cat you could add to your collection. He only occasionally pees on things ... JB
ReplyDeleteThis has to be absolutely the best birthday present ever! I enjoyed looking at the grouping of these fabulous decorations. Today's samplings simply are disappointing. It is either cheap looking or focuses on the bloody gore. I so much prefer this type of decor. <3 Moe
ReplyDeleteLove love love Halloween! I have two old noisemaker toys, very old -- I think they were my mom's. A shaker and a spin-around thing that makes a rasping noise. The shaker has a cool Halloween design with a witch. We've actually used this stuff every year from my childhood through my kids' and now my granddaughter's!
ReplyDeleteDo you still have a cat or kitties, Christine?
Yup, two cats: Carmen (who you likely never met, Calico female) and Muzzi - the Orange Tabby who I took in from Lewis Street!
ReplyDeleteI have such a hard time finding vintage Halloween around here. I wonder if it has to do with living in the Bible Belt.. Looks like I am going to have to depend on the Internet. I blogged about how much I love Halloween and how much it meant to me as a child. Great pictures. I love your blog!
