Clearly the "Where Do You Find That Stuff?" posts are going to eclipse all others as I spend most of my time shopping, um, I mean looking for stuff to resell, of course! Yesterday, Carmen and Ginger went on a little road trip out to the westernmost border of Connecticut to leave some items at a new retail location opening there this week. (More info to come once open - it is a stone's throw from Manhattan and right on the leaf-peeping route!). On our way out, we noticed this "Junk Shop" and made a point to stop by on the return trip.
A neat place, full of what you'd expect (furniture, lamps, glassware, papers, rusty old stuff, peeling paint) and some things you might not (some fun old fisher price toys, mid-century furniture and old Atari cartridges!) For me, of course, the best unexpected find were these hats that were sort of sprinkled throughout the shop. Funky mid-century finds for both men and women, most of these will appear in Carmen and Ginger's Etsy Shop in the next week or so!
Just a lovely part of New England, if you are looking for a leaf-peeping drive this coming Columbus-Day weekend. The shop is located along Route 202 in Canton, Connecticut. Enjoy!
My father grew up in part of Canton, CT -- Collinsville, to be exact. That area is a huge part of my childhood memories! -- grandma, great-aunt, great-grandma, ancestral farmhouse, cousins etc. It's gorgeous there. I need to go back and visit.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo, I love those kind of road trips! Can't wait to hear more about the CT shop. Congrats!

Now the hats I will be looking out for, though I am always unsure to buy online and how to be sure they will fit and look right. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Eyeliah! I always give the size, if labeled, as well as measuring the band and letting buyers know if there is any stretch. To check your size, take a cloth tape measure and measure around your head right above your eyebrows. This is where the band should rest around your head and this is your measurement!
ReplyDeleteAnne - that's great! It is a beautiful area, and, as you get a glimpse in the photos, the foliage is getting close to peaking, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to see the bag in action! I love it and was REALLY impressed with how clean and in great shape it was when it arrived. Great job! Thanks again!
